Home Office Declutter-Palooza 2016

I was listening to a network marketing training call the other night and BAM!

I got served.

The speaker, Jordan Adler, author of Beach Money:  Creating Your Dream Life through Network Marketing, suggested there was one thing I could do now to clear a path for rapid growth in my business.

My ears perked up.

Then, he dropped THIS whammy.

“Let’s take a look at our environment. We have all visited places that feed our soul. For some people (like me) it’s the mountains or the beach. On the other hand, we all have experienced disempowering environments that steal our mental and emotional energy. For some of you it’s where you live! It might be a cluttered living room, bedroom, office or car. You’ll know because every time you go there you get a little pit in your stomach. You say something to yourself like . . . “Ugh . . . I need to clean out this room!” OR “My car is a wreck!”. You get the idea! You have environments that speak to you in a negative way as you move through them on a daily basis. They steal your energy. Well . . . it’s time to tackle your piles. Get it done before the new year. Set up your “environment’! Especially if you do your work there.” – Jordan Adler

For me, the room that makes me go “ugh” is my home office. I have worked from this converted bedroom for close to 13 years. I brainstormed some of my best internet marketing moments of genius in my little office.

I’m in here now typing away. But, somehow, the place I used to love to work became a place I dread to enter.

Yup.  I got the message.  It is time for a much-needed home office declutter-palooza.

To hold me accountable, I am going post my progress along the way.  So far, I have emptied one file drawer.

Here are some BEFORE images and a couple of progress shots:

I have already made a little progress!

Since I will be going through chemo for at least 3 more months, and my energy level is quite low, I know I can only work in small chunks…  but one drawer… one shelf…  at a time and before long I will uncover that home office where I love to work.

Latest PET Scan Results Show Abraxane plus Perjeta and Herceptin are Working | Battling Bertha

In September, a lung biopsy revealed a 7 mm nodule in my left lung as 99% ER+ 70% HER2+ metastatic breast cancer. There was also a smaller nodule in my right lung, too small to biopsy.

I was immediately put on a cocktail of Abraxane plus Perjeta and Herceptin every three weeks.

This morning with a huge smile on his face, Dr. Ellent, my oncologist, informed my husband and I that per my most recent PET Scan, the 7 mm nodule is now 2 mm (a 92% reduction in size) with no evidence of any other nodules:

“There was previously a 0.7 cm diameter nodule along the left major fissure in the left upper lobe, which had a maximum SUV of 3.1.  There is currently a 2 mm nodule in this location on image 83 which has a maximum SUV of 1.4.  A 3-4 mm nodule previously seen in the left upper lobe has resolved.  No hypermetabolic or new nodule, mass lesion, or consolidation is identified in the lung parechyma.”

Can I get a wooo hooo, y’all?

Dr. David Ellent, Greater Houston Cancer Clinic, calculates a 92% reduction in nodule size after treatment with Abraxane plus Perjecta and Herceptin

We will continue Abraxane plus Perjeta and Herecptin for another 90 days and then re-assess.  These drugs have some serious side effects that I will share in the future.  For now, they are working.  I can live with the side effects.  And I plan to live a very, very long time!

Today is a good day!
