Fallen Hero Memorial Chest

I don’t normally blog about my custom furniture business, except in passing, here. Today, however, I am compelled to share this photo of a recently finished cherry fallen hero memorial chest created for the family of SPC Mabry James Anders, who made the ultimate sacrifice on August 27, 2012 in Kalagush, Afghanistan.  He was just 21 years old.

No words can express the profoundly humbling experience it is to be asked to create a fitting tribute for a family who has lost their beloved son.

Shane, my husband and business partner, and I, feel as if we have been given a mission to bring comfort and closure to gold star families with memorial chests.  We see us giving 5 of these fallen hero memorial chests to local families who have lost their son, daughter, husband, wife, father, mother in the line of duty by the end of this Spring.

A mission this big requires big help.

It will take a minimum of $6000 to build and deliver five fallen hero memorial chests.

Who do you know who can help?

What an amazing thing! The chest is beautiful. Have you looked into an online fundraising website? It might be a great way to raise the funds and get the word out to people in your community.
