Get Rich Quick in 2015

Back in May of 2014, Seth Godin created a profound, albeit short, list that puts richness into perspective.  He posted 10 lines that laid out the path to get rich quick, including these three that resonate the most with me:

  • Enrich your world by creating value for others.
  • Enrich your relationships by saying what needs to be said.
  • Enrich your skills by learning something new, something scary.

And then wrapped it all up these thought provoking words:

“The connection economy pays dividends in ways that the industrial one rarely did.” – Seth Godin

There are two important lessons in this list.

First, blog posts can be short.  Really short.  10 lines.  Seriously, who knew?

Secondly, enriching others is the true path to wealth.

  • If you go back and read the greats… Napoleon Hill, James Allen, Wallace Wattles, etc… enriching others has always been the only way to true wealth. Even in the industrial age, the giants of commerce made it big by giving the masses the tools by which to improve their lives… automobiles, tires, steel for building.

It’s probably the most important lesson any entrepreneur can learn. Thank you for the reminder!

  • I totally agree with your second point about enriching others. Every time I write a post on my blog, I think about how that post might help or encourage someone. If it is only about me, then it most likely won’t help others, but if I take the same post and turn my personal situation into how it could affect the person reading, then hopefully the message I want to send will get across much clearer and be better received. As for the short posts, ha, I might have to work on that one.
